Submitted by Siriel Admin on 2008 Jun 12 - 12:39pm

June 6, 2008, Ohio Congressman Dennis Kucinich, supported by Florida Congressman Robert Wexler, is calling for the impeachment of President Bush. The former presidential candidate and Ohio congressman accuses the president of misleading the American public into the Iraq war. The resolution contains thirty-five articles, including: Creating a secret propaganda campaign to manufacture a false cause for war against Iraq, providing immunity for criminal contractors in Iraq, imprisoning children, creating secret laws, and spying on American citizens without a court ordered warrant in violation of the law and the 4th amendment. The House voted to refer the matter to the House Judiciary Committee. [ Kucinich’s original speech without commentary: part I part 2 ]

May Day 2008 Statement from the Iraqi Labour Movement
Submitted by Siriel Admin on 2008 May 1 - 1:13pm

To the Workers and All Peace Loving People of the World
April 29th, 2008

On this day of international labour solidarity we call on our fellow trade unionists and all those worldwide who have stood against war and occupation to increase support for our struggle for freedom from occupation – both the military and economic. (...)

Five years of invasion, war and occupation have brought nothing but death, destruction, misery and suffering to our people. In the name of our “liberation,” the invaders have destroyed our nation’s infrastructure, bombed our neighbourhoods, broken into our homes, traumatized our children, assaulted and arrested many of our family members and neighbours, permitted the looting of our national treasures, and turned nearly twenty percent of our people into refugees.

Submitted by Siriel Admin on 2008 Jan 10 - 12:08pm

URGENT IRAQ: UN might re-authorize U.S. occupation force!
Submitted by Siriel Admin on 2007 Nov 20 - 11:48am

In 2003, the United Nations Organization was tremendously dishonored when the UN “Security” Council (UNSC) declared the occupation of Iraq to be a Multinational Force supported by the UN (s/res/1511(2003)). The UNSC will soon consider re-authorization of the occupation.
